The lasting impact of Talk Green Future as an academic platform fostering action-oriented thinking among young people
Following a series of intense rounds and emotionally charged debates, Talk Green Future Season 3, organized by the For Green Future Foundation under Vingroup, has officially concluded. For many educators and experts involved, what remains goes beyond results or awards, reflecting instead a shift in students’ mindset, attitudes and approaches to environmental issues.
Growth through practical experience
Assessing the impact of the competition, Ms. Ngo Thi Thu Hien, Vice Principal of A Duy Tien High School in Ninh Binh, the school with the highest number of applications, said the competition has contributed to fostering a sense of responsibility among young citizens.

A Duy Tien High School (Ninh Binh) received the “Most Active School Participation” award at Talk Green Future Season 3.
“The research process allows students to accumulate knowledge while learning how to apply what they have studied in school to real-life contexts. As a result, they are able to identify environmental challenges in their localities and propose appropriate ideas and solutions,” she said.

Students from A Duy Tien High School (Ninh Binh) attended the Final Round of Talk Green Future to engage and learn from outstanding teams.
Sharing a similar perspective, Ms. Dinh Thi Mai Trang, Vice Principal of Thang Long High School for the Gifted in Lam Dong, noted that the competition creates a different learning environment where students do not passively receive knowledge but are required to conduct their own research and defend their arguments.
“In the past, students learned concepts such as green environments or carbon footprints mainly through textbooks. Through the competition, they are required to explore these topics more deeply, including specific programs such as green mobility or green education,” she said.
According to teachers from across the country, Talk Green Future has gone beyond the scope of a conventional competition, opening up a highly practical learning environment. By participating, students engage directly with real-world issues and express their own perspectives on environmental matters.
“The competition enables students to access the ten key environmental programs of the For Green Future Foundation. These are all practical issues that students can engage with and act on from an early age,” Ms. Mai Trang added.
A platform nurturing community-driven innovation
In addition to participants’ skills and performance, the quality of project ideas has also been highly regarded by experts. According to Prof. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc, Faculty of Chemistry and Environment at Thuy Loi University, many teams demonstrated an ability to capture social trends through their choice of topics and the development of their arguments.
“Looking at the current context, it is clear that society is undergoing significant changes, with new government policies and regulations being introduced. The students have aligned their topics with these trends, such as green tourism or green mobility,” she said.
Beyond conceptual ideas, many teams also demonstrated strong capabilities in research organization and the application of technology throughout the development of their projects.
“Participants are also thinking about how to bring their ideas and products to international markets, thereby introducing Vietnamese green technology products to a global audience,” said Dr. Nguyen Thu Huong, Chief Executive Officer of Nam Huong Media Group and President of ProImage Academy.
According to Dr. Huong, this highlights that Talk Green Future is not only an intellectual competition but also a platform that nurtures community-oriented initiatives, while serving as a bridge connecting young people’s ideas with investors and opportunities for real-world implementation.
From an educational perspective, the competition contributes to shaping a generation of students who are not indifferent to environmental issues, encouraging them to ask what they can do rather than simply observe.
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan, Vice Principal of Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School in Ha Noi, her school’s First Prize in the English division of Season 3 is only a starting point. More importantly, students are expected to continue applying the knowledge and ideas they have gained to their daily lives.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan, Vice Principal of Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School (Ha Noi), shared her pride as students from the school spread and inspired a green lifestyle.
“They can start with small changes at home and in school, and gradually extend these efforts to the wider community. In doing so, they can become voices that inspire positive and sustainable choices,” she said.
